Day 1
Welcome to the first day of Heroic Halloween!!! 31 days of Halloween inspired Kids’ Yoga!
Today we are practicing werewolf pose. Werewolf pose is a back bend that allows us to learn to open our chests, strengthen our backs and howl at the moon.
Lay down flat on your stomach.
Put your hands down flat by the side of your ribs.
Take a big breath in.
As you breathe out lift your chest through your arms till your arms are straight and try to get your thighs off the floor too with a big
ARH-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
To come down, bend your elbows and bring your chest back to the floor slowly!
Use this courageous back bend to create more energy in your body, breathe deeply and connect to the present moment!
That’s it for the first day of Heroic Halloween! Please join us every day in October for a new Halloween inspired kids’ yoga pose, breathing exercises or activity from Little Heroes Yoga. Please post a picture of yourself practicing werewolf pose and tag #lhyheroichalloween #heroichalloween and @littleheroesyoga !

Today we are practicing Mummy Pose. Mummy pose is a great standing balance that we use our whole body to participate with. If your balance is tricky, you are welcome to stand against a wall to help you or practice mummy pose with someone else to help hold each other up!
*
*
*
Place both of your feet on the ground and stand firm and tall.
Then raise both or your arms out in front of you to your shoulders height.
Let your hands reach out or extend your fingers out or down.
Slowly lift your leg up and balance on one foot.
Take a few mummy breaths in and out and then bring your hands down and foot back to the ground.

*
*
When you are ready switch sides.
*
*
*
If you like make some spooky mummy sounds or take some big mummy steps between balancing.
